Project Methodology


Safety is the highest priority at USTGC – NO EXCEPTIONS. While other GCs often ask their field superintendent to oversee safety, UST employs a dedicated safety officer. The safety officer manages UST’s program which is modeled after OSHA and the Army Corp of Engineers EM383-1-1 requirements.

Furthermore, each member of our project crew is required to be certified on OSHA’s 40 Hour training and complete OSHA’s 10 & 30 Hour scheduled courses.

While all other aspects of a project may have equal weighting in terms of importance, safety is always number 1. Not only is it the right thing to do, projects run more efficiently and effectively.

Quality Control

Quality Control is an essential element of USTGC’s construction processes. USTGC’s Quality Control Manager will implement and manage a job specific QC plan for each project. USTGC models its QC program based on the Army Corp of Engineers three phase approach consisting of preparatory, initial and follow-up measures.


USTGC utilizes Primavera P6 for its scheduling models for larger projects and SmartSheet schedules for smaller projects to identify which resources will perform the work, track milestones, communicate progress and use as a back-up for billing. The schedules are regularly updated and posted onsite by the field superintendent. It reflects all of the work associated with delivering the project on-time.

Contract Administration

UST has a diligent contract administration process to ensure the timely flow of information so that work proceeds in conformity with the contract documents. We will provide preconstruction submittals, certified payrolls as required, billings, SF1413’s, QC plans, safety plans, as-builts, SWPPP, and all other documentation necessary. Our administrative process allows all stakeholders a final opportunity to detect inaccuracies, ambiguities and/or inconsistencies in the design.
